New Business

Holly Abeels, Marine Science Agent, briefed the Board on recent UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County activities.

Jonathan suggested sending a letter on behalf of the Board to the Florida Today and Orlando Sentinel newspapers requesting testing, and if necessary, notifying the public of the level of toxicity of the local seafood. Henry agreed with sending a letter, but he suggested it should be determined if other agencies do this already (e.g., Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services).

Jonathan proposed adding an item to the Association of Florida Conservation Districts state meeting agenda of controlling the water levels in Lake Okeechobee.

Jonathan submitted to the Board a budget of the estimated costs to attend the 2019 Association of Florida Conservation Districts state meeting in Ocala. The estimated total cost of transportation and room and board was $515.50. Motion by Henry, seconded by Bud, to expend up to $515.50 to attend the 2019 Association of Florida Conservation Districts state meeting in Ocala. The vote passed unanimously.

Upon consensus of the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
